Maria Relucio (She/Her, Elle) is a distinct professional, blending her extensive experience in Education with a deep understanding of Behavioural Science and Law. With over two decades of teaching, she holds an MA in Education and a PhD in Social Justice Education from the Ontario Institute for Studies in Education, University of Toronto. Her training in Behavioural Science and Behaviour Analysis from the Institute of Child Education and Psychology (ICEP, Ireland), Florida Institute of Technology (Melbourne, Florida) and OBM Dynamics (The Netherlands) has equipped her with a unique perspective on the applications of Behavioural Science. She is a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst (BCBA), Qualified Behaviour Analyst (QBA), International Behaviour Analyst (IBA) and Registered Behaviour Analyst (Ontario, Canada), specializing in three areas: Behaviour Analysis in Education, Organizational Behaviour Management (OBM) and Acceptance & Commitment Training (ACTr). Maria Relucio is also an OBM Foundations Accredited Trainer with APMG International (UK). She is a member/observer of the United Nations (UN) Behavioural Science Working Group. Maria created a resource platform for learners, parents and families, educators and behaviour analysts to access free resources in Behaviour Analysis in Education to promote effective teaching and inclusive learning for diverse learners. Maria also teaches courses and trains professionals in various fields and industry settings at The Organizational Behaviour Management Academy.
Maria Relucio's professional journey is marked by her diverse expertise and qualifications. In addition to her extensive teaching and research experience in Education and practice in Behavioural Science, she is also a member of the Chartered Institute of Legal Executives (CILEX, UK). Maria holds an LLB (Hons) from the University of London, specializing in Public International Law, Business Law and Data & Technology Legal Compliance. Maria’s early areas of interest are in Public International Law and Human Rights Law, and she has gained the World Health Organization (WHO) Mental Health, Quality Rights and Human Rights certification as a coach/trainer. Her certifications further demonstrate her acumen in approaching the complex nuances within the intersections of Human Rights Law, Business Law and Data and Technology Law as a Certified Artificial Intelligence Transformation Leader (CATIL) from the United States Artificial Intelligence Institute (USAII), a Certified Information and Privacy Professional / Canada (CIPP/C), and her membership in the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
Maria Relucio's professional journey is also marked by significant contributions to Global Social Justice initiatives. She has led and managed diverse, large-scale, complex projects to promote accessibility, accommodation, and Diversity, Equity, Inclusion, and Belonging (DEIB). Since 2016, she has been a voting member of the ARCH Disability Law Centre in Ontario, Canada. She has been involved as an ad hoc member of the Special Education Appeal Board (SEAB), supporting Ontario families. Maria has also authored numerous publications on the topic of DEIB. Her dedication to promoting DEIB is reflected as a Certified Diversity Executive (CDE) with the Institute of Diversity Certification (IDC, US) and is recognized as an esteemed Fellow of the Institute of Diversity & Equality Professionals (FIEDP, UK).
